Survey Insights
Quantus Insights conducted the survey from August 26 to 28 among 1,200 likely voters. The study used SMS-to-mobile interviews and considered factors like sex, age, race, education, party, and metro type. The margin of error was ±3.2 percentage points.
The tight 3.3-point margin between Vance and Ocasio-Cortez falls within the survey’s margin of error, indicating a close race.
Potential Candidates Keeping Options Open
Neither Ocasio-Cortez nor Vance has confirmed candidacy for 2028. Ocasio-Cortez mentioned staying focused on midterms and her congressional campaign but kept a presidential run open. There were updates in her campaign team, suggesting preparations for future decisions.
Vance expressed that discussions about future roles would take place after the 2026 midterms, indicating a similar openness to multiple possibilities.

Political Environment
The survey placed Democrats ahead on the congressional ballot as well, with 49.7% compared to Republicans’ 42.8%. President Trump’s approval was low, offering a supportive backdrop for Democrats.
Forecasting the Future
