Odell Beckham Jr. is inching closer to a return to the NFL, making headlines as he plans to work out with the New York Giants. After not playing since the 2024 season, this development signals a potential reunion with his former team. The news comes from Jordan Schultz, who reports that Beckham Jr.’s return could be imminent.
The Giants are exploring options after losing wide receiver Gunner Olszewski to a torn Achilles over the weekend. This injury likely prompted them to reach out to Beckham Jr., who was drafted by them in 2014 and played five seasons with the team.
Beckham Jr. last played on December 8, 2024, for the Miami Dolphins. The team waived him shortly after that game. If he joins the Giants for the upcoming season, he will have been absent from the field for 644 days. At 33, Beckham Jr. faces a significant gap between his most recent NFL appearances.
During his brief time with the Dolphins, Beckham Jr. managed only nine receptions for 55 yards across nine games. Over his 10-year NFL career, he has amassed 575 receptions, 7,987 yards, and 59 touchdowns. His most productive years were with the Giants, where he caught 390 passes for 5,476 yards and scored 44 touchdowns in 59 games.
If Beckham Jr. returns, he will join a receiving group featuring Malachi Fields, a 2026 third-round pick, Malik Nabers, a 2024 first-round selection, and Darnell Mooney, a recent free-agent addition. Last season, the Giants ranked 21st in passing yards per game, with an average of 204.4 yards. They will look to boost their offense, having lost their leading receiver Wandale Robinson, who joined the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
