Pedestrian Struck While Changing Tire on I-80/I-94
A person died Wednesday morning after being hit while changing a tire on I-80/I-94 in southwest suburban Lansing, according to Illinois State Police.
Around 5:30 a.m., authorities received a report of a crash at westbound I-80 at Torrence Avenue. The report indicated a pedestrian had been struck. Preliminary findings suggest the individual was attempting to change a tire when the accident occurred.
Two lanes of traffic were closed during the investigation by the Illinois State Police. They are asking anyone with dashcam footage to contact ISP Zone 1 at (847) 294-4400 or email at [email protected]. Witnesses may remain anonymous.
