President Trump Jokes About Being ‘The Boss’ at G7 Summit

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump arrived late to a meeting with world leaders at the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France. As he entered, Trump joked about being ‘the boss’ to those in attendance.

Addressing photographers who were briefly present in the meeting room, Trump quipped, ‘Would you like to stay for the meeting? It’s OK with me.’ The media personnel were then asked to leave the room.

The G7 summit meeting coincided with the leaders of the group expressing support for President Trump’s tentative peace agreement with Iran. This agreement aims to reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz. In a joint statement, the leaders commended Trump’s ‘strong leadership’ in achieving what they described as a ‘breakthrough.’

The statement further highlighted that the peace deal, scheduled to be formally signed on Friday, represents a ‘historic opportunity to prevent Iran from acquiring any nuclear weapon.’
