Prince Harry plans to visit London next week without his wife Meghan and their two children, according to a close source. His family was expected to join him for what would have been their first group trip to the U.K. in four years. However, the source clarified that Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet will not accompany him during the London segment of the trip. The rest of their travel plans are still under discussion, raising uncertainty about the family’s possible visit outside of London.
The visit marks a one-year countdown to the next Invictus Games, which Prince Harry started in 2014 for injured veterans. These games are scheduled for July 10-17, 2027. The prince will also attend engagements related to his other charitable activities during this visit to the U.K.
Currently in Europe, Harry and his family remain hopeful about visiting the U.K. despite the lack of confirmed plans, according to The Sun newspaper. A planned joint visit to a London hospital by Harry and Meghan for her first engagement since leaving the U.K. is now set to be undertaken by Harry alone due to security issues.
Previously, a source mentioned that the family would stay in royal residences, with the BBC noting that King Charles III would host them as guests. Last year, Harry voiced his concerns regarding his family’s safety during U.K. visits due to the loss of full police protection. He expressed to the BBC that taking his family to the U.K. posed safety challenges and noted Buckingham Palace had not provided additional security for his upcoming visit.
Harry and Meghan moved to North America in 2020 and withdrew from royal duties amidst family disagreements. The situation escalated with Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” and his involvement in legal battles in the U.K. Harry has shared a desire to mend ties with his father, although their meeting during this visit remains uncertain. They last met briefly at Clarence House, where King Charles was receiving treatment for an unspecified cancer, in September 2025.
