Recall Details: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled two types of children’s squeeze toys because of serious injury hazards related to the water beads inside them. These affected toys are the Squeezy Dumplings from GIHNJSI and Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns from OKK Trading. The recall was issued because if a child ingests these beads, they can expand in the body, causing choking and intestinal obstructions. This condition may lead to severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and potentially fatal risks for children.
Products Involved:
Squeezy Dumplings:
Sold on Amazon in May and June, these toys are round and squishy with cartoon faces and glitter-like particles. They come in bamboo steamer-like packaging labeled “SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS” and “SQUEEZE ME.” Approximately 8,000 units have been recalled.Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns:
Available from May to August at various third-party U.S. stores, these toys also feature glitter, cartoon faces, and bamboo steamer-like packaging with labels “Rainbow MYSTERY” and “SUGAR EDITION.” About 7,200 units are affected by the recall.
Actions for Consumers: If you possess any of the recalled toys, write “RECALLED” in permanent marker on both the product and its container, then dispose of them. Send a photo of the disposed toy to the respective email addresses provided by CPSC: [email protected] for Squeezy Dumplings, and [email protected] for Squishy Buns. The recall notice assures a full refund.
Additional Safety Alert: The CPSC advises consumers to stop using Squishy Bun Toys sold by Ivyapingdianpu, as these violate mandatory safety standards and include hazardous water beads. Despite receiving a Notice of Violation, the company has neither recalled the product nor provided remedies to consumers. These dumpling-shaped toys also have glitter, cartoon faces, and come in a steamer-like container labeled “SQUISHY BUN” and “Rainbow MYSTERY.”
Approximately 100 units sold via Amazon and other sellers in June are impacted. The CPSC requests consumers report any injury or defects associated with these toys. Dispose of these items immediately to avoid any risks.
