A foreclosed home in Burlington, Connecticut, became the focus of attention when the new owner found the skeletal remains of three individuals after taking possession. According to state authorities, the discoveries were made on June 14, just days after the property’s purchase.
The State Police reported that the remains were suspected to be of three people but stated there was no indication of criminal activity. They also noted that these deaths appeared to be isolated incidents. The identities of the deceased and the specific causes of death are yet to be determined.
The house, a Cape Cod-style residence constructed in 2002, was auctioned off on June 6. It was bought by Edward Marchion for $525,000, per court records. Attempts to reach Mr. Marchion for comment have been unsuccessful.
Paul and Sally Anne Cash previously owned the property and had secured a loan of nearly $400,000, managed by Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, before the house went into foreclosure. Mr. Marchion paid an $82,000 deposit on the house, which had a listed fair market value of $820,000, according to court records.
