Representative Thomas Kean Jr. Returns Home After Long Absence
Representative Thomas Kean Jr., who has been away from Congress since March, returned to his New Jersey home on Wednesday evening. He was seen wearing a suit and tie, and greeted a reporter at his door.
The congressman, known for his role in one of the country’s most competitive midterm races, had been absent due to health issues. Aides mentioned that he is receiving treatment and is expected to recover completely. However, specific details about his condition were not provided.
On Wednesday evening, around 8:45 p.m., Mr. Kean was visible from the street in his Westfield home. When approached by a reporter, he expressed his intention to speak further next week. His wife, Rhonda, was also present and smiled in the background while Mr. Kean politely declined further comments and closed the door.
His absence resulted in him missing over 100 floor votes since mid-March. This situation left some of his Republican supporters frustrated as he campaigns for a third term in November.
