Rey Mysterio’s AAA Journey and Rivalry with Omos
Rey Mysterio’s Legacy in Wrestling
Rey Mysterio, before becoming a WWE champion, began his wrestling career with AAA. At the inaugural Triplemania event in 1993, Mysterio joined forces with Volador and Misterioso against Los Destructores. Fast forward over thirty years, Mysterio now serves as AAA’s general manager and headlines Triplemania 34 Night 1 in Las Vegas.
Mysterio’s AAA Involvement
Mysterio reflects on his journey in wrestling, expressing the significance of his role as AAA’s GM. AAA gave him his start, opening doors at the first AAA shows in ’92 and the initial Triplemania in ’93. Seeing his career come full circle, he describes his experience as an amazing ride filled with challenges.
Mysterio managed to orchestrate a historic two-night Triplemania event, the first of its kind for AAA, with events occurring in Las Vegas and Mexico City. He emphasizes the uniqueness of this occasion in AAA’s history.
Rivalry with Omos
Mysterio’s ongoing confrontation with Omos is set to culminate on Friday night. He previously suspended Omos for injuring Galeno and attacking him in August. Omos, with Dominik Mysterio’s aid, continued his aggression, leading to their highly anticipated showdown.
Mysterio remains unfazed by Omos’s intimidation, having faced giants throughout his career. From the age of 8, Mysterio trained alongside older and larger individuals. His familiarity with overcoming larger opponents fuels his motivation for the upcoming match.
Mysterio’s Stand as AAA GM
As AAA’s GM, Mysterio aims to maintain authority within the locker room. He insists no superstar will intimidate him and commands respect. Mysterio makes it clear that boundaries must be observed.
In the match against Omos, if Mysterio loses, Omos will return to the AAA roster. If Mysterio wins, Omos will face permanent exclusion from AAA competition.
