Rod Stewart Halts Farewell Tour for Recovery

Musician Rod Stewart is pausing his ‘One Last Time’ farewell tour following a coronary stent procedure. A representative confirmed that Stewart had to cancel and postpone several performances due to this health matter.

Stewart, aged 81, was scheduled for multiple performances in North America, including a six-night stay at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and shows in Mexico. Unfortunately, he canceled his Tuesday show in Cleveland and postponed his Sunday concert in Cincinnati, as a medical procedure required immediate attention.

A statement from his publicist mentioned that after further evaluation, Stewart successfully underwent a routine coronary stent procedure. Doctors are pleased with his recovery. Though Stewart is doing well, he will take four weeks to fully recuperate on medical advice. Consequently, he will not continue the current tour dates.

The publicist also noted that information about affected performances would be communicated by the respective promoters and venues.

Gratefully acknowledging the medical staff, Stewart remarked, ‘I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me.’ He expressed disappointment about missing shows and apologized to fans but eagerly anticipates returning to the stage soon.

Renowned for his hits like ‘Maggie May’ and ‘Tonight’s the Night,’ Stewart has sold millions of records and holds two inductions in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. His signature rasp has made an enduring impact on rock ‘n’ roll.
