Rod Stewart has postponed multiple concerts as advised by his doctor. He needs to rest his voice to overcome vocal issues.
The shows initially set for June 15 and 16 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, are now rescheduled for September 2 and 3, 2027. The venue shared this update on their social media platforms.
“Following examinations at Colorado Voice Clinic this afternoon, Dr. David Opperman has prescribed vocal rest for Rod Stewart,” the post states. “Evaluation revealed significant inflammation and strain of the vocal folds, making it impossible for him to safely perform without the risk of further injury and potential long-term damage to his voice.”
The post also mentioned, “Rod is deeply disappointed and sincerely apologizes to his fans for this inconvenience. He looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as he is medically cleared.”
Stewart’s decision not to perform makes sense given his vocal condition, though some fans expressed frustration over the late timing of the announcement. One fan commented, “Why wait an hour before the show? Bartenders and other staff had been called off hours ago? Unacceptable,”
on X.
This is not an isolated incident. Stewart previously canceled his San Diego performance on April 12 due to an acute upper respiratory infection that caused laryngitis.
His next concert is planned for June 19 in West Valley City, Utah. As of now, this event remains on schedule, but ticket holders should stay updated in case of any changes. The hope is for Stewart’s full recovery so he can return to performing soon.
