Royal Rift: Prince William and Harry’s Strained Relationship
A potential new documentary about Princess Diana isn’t expected to bring Prince William and Prince Harry together. The longstanding rift between the brothers makes a reunion improbable, as stated by Piers Morgan in an interview with Fox News Digital.
“They don’t speak to each other and haven’t for years,” Piers Morgan, host of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” explained. He noted that Prince William is “absolutely incandescent with anger about what his little brother did in trashing the royal family,” which includes releasing books and participating in various media projects that criticize the family.
Several royal experts indicated that William and Harry have not been on speaking terms since Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022. Morgan expressed sympathy for William, emphasizing that he’s an honorable man who has distanced himself from his brother.
Kensington Palace was contacted for comment, but there hasn’t been a response. During this time, Prince William and his wife, Catherine, visited Southport Community Centre in Southport, England.
Morgan has voiced his opinions about Harry and Meghan Markle over the years, especially after they stepped back from royal duties. Reports indicate that the brothers remain distant, a situation that is concerning for their father, King Charles III.
Documentary Prospects
The Times reported that Prince William is not planning to participate in a film about Princess Diana for the 30th anniversary of her death. He has declined several offers to be part of documentaries, wishing to avoid more conflict with Harry. William considers his tributes for the 20th anniversary as his public “catharsis.”
On the other hand, People magazine reported that Prince Harry is exploring ways to commemorate the anniversary, but no documentary has been finalized. Harry is in discussions to honor his mother’s legacy with family and friends.
Family Dynamics
Ian Pelham Turner, a royal broadcaster, pointed out the differences between the brothers, as Harry and Meghan remained quiet while William and Catherine increased public engagements. Turner noted the tension in King’s Charles III, whose “two sons appear as distant as ever.”
William is reportedly emotional regarding the anniversary of Diana’s death. The recent publication of a memoir by Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother, added to the family tension, as William had little advance notice about the book.
In 2017, the brothers had collaborated on projects marking the 20th anniversary of Diana’s passing, but have since refrained from public discussions. Harry has spoken about how deeply their mother’s death affected him and recalled emotional moments during her funeral.
Continued Estrangement
Despite their estrangement, Harry expressed a desire for reconciliation with his family in a 2025 BBC interview. He emphasized the importance of family and the fleeting nature of life.
Stephanie Nolasco, an Entertainment Reporter for Fox News Digital, covered these developments.
