Seattle Seahawks Surprise with Dominant Win Over Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs Lead NFL Despite 2025 Struggles

Following a challenging 2025 season, the Kansas City Chiefs have returned to the top of the NFL in 2026. They show promising signs of advancing to another AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills.

Seattle Seahawks Face Difficulties After Super Bowl Victory

The Seattle Seahawks, last year’s Super Bowl champions, started the season strong with victories over the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals. However, they’ve since stumbled with a 1-3 record, including a surprising loss to the Commanders. Despite a win against the LA Chargers, they suffered frustrating overtime defeats to the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos.

Quarterback Controversy in Seattle

The Seahawks’ struggles prompted speculation that Sam Darnold might lose his starting job to Drew Lock. After a 27/51 performance with no touchdowns and two interceptions against Denver, his position seemed precarious. Despite this, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald expressed confidence in Darnold, believing he can resolve his ball security issues and remain part of the solution.

Darnold Redeems Himself in Victory Over Chiefs

Darnold proved his coach right by delivering a strong performance against the Chiefs. After a slow start, he ignited the second quarter with significant yardage and a touchdown pass to Jaxson Smith-Njigba. Despite another interception, his efforts helped build a 13-0 lead by the third quarter.

Seattle’s Dominant Defense

The Seahawks showcased a suffocating defense, limiting Kansas City to just three points entering the fourth quarter—a rare occurrence in Patrick Mahomes’ career. Emanuel Wilson sealed the game with a 21-yard touchdown run, completing Seattle’s impressive showing.

Future Matchups

Next, the Seahawks will host the Chicago Bears on Monday night. Meanwhile, the Chiefs aim to rebound against the Denver Broncos at Empower Field.
