The Hardys have a history of using ladders to secure tag team championships, and Slammiversary was no exception. In the high-stakes environment of a ladder match, Jeff Hardy took risks that fans have come to expect.
On Sunday night, Jeff Hardy participated in a four-way ladder match featuring competitors such as Bear Bronson, Brian Myers, Jason Hotch, John Skyler, Vincent, and Dutch. Known for thrilling moves, the Hardys didn’t disappoint.
Matt Hardy cleverly positioned Hotch and Skyler between a ladder wedged between the barricade and the ring apron. Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy climbed a ladder brought in by Vincent and Dutch, executing a Swanton Bomb from the top.
Following these daring moves, the Hardys took control of the central ladder, grabbing the TNA World Tag Team Championship belts to secure victory.
This win marks the fifth TNA tag team championship for the Hardys, making them tied with Beer Money Inc. and The Wolves for the most reigns in TNA history. It’s also their second title reign in the past year.
Last year, the Hardys won the title at Slammiversary and held it for 265 days before losing to Myers and Bronson at Rebellion. With this victory, they regain their top position in TNA’s tag team division.
Bronson and Myers held the title for 78 days before the Hardys reclaimed it, demonstrating their enduring presence in professional wrestling.
