Dr. Marc Siegel joined Fox News as a contributor in 2008. He appreciated the network’s flexibility and creativity, enabling him to expand his focus from infectious diseases to health policy and Obamacare. This role allowed him to exercise various journalistic skills.
In 2012, Dr. Siegel began reporting for the network more seriously. During the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, he received permission from the executives to travel to Boston. The attack was executed by two self-radicalized brothers and was the largest terrorist attack in the U.S. since 9/11.
On the way to Boston, Dr. Siegel convinced Massachusetts General Hospital’s PR team to grant him an interview with a survivor.
This survivor, a woman injured in the explosion, shared her message of resilience, telling the camera, “We can’t let the terrorists win. We must stay strong and not be afraid. Boston is a great city.”
Ten years later, another Fox executive sent Dr. Siegel to East Palestine, Ohio, following a train wreck. With a skilled field producer at his side, he gathered stories from those affected by the toxic smoke. Local ERs labeled the symptoms “situational anxiety,” but many residents faced respiratory issues and unknown long-term health risks.
Dr. Siegel regards Fox’s executives, producers, and bookers as vital contributors to the network’s success, dubbing them as “angels.” When his father passed away at age 102, the Fox management team was present at his funeral as a testament to their close bonds.
Senior Correspondent Benjamin Hall embodies the spirit of Fox News. His courage was recognized during a near-death experience in Ukraine when his car was bombed, killing his cameraman and producer. Chief National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin played a significant role in arranging his extraction.
Hall’s miraculous survival after the bombing, which included a car of Ukrainian special forces driving past him and then returning, is perceived as divine intervention.
He describes the scenario: “At this moment of trying to stay strong, I think of how I am going to get home. I think of my children. Our car has burned totally to pieces, and we are down on the road. This one car comes out of nowhere.” Hall believes this to be a direct sign from God.
Throughout the bombing, Hall reflects on visions of his daughter and father, considering whether they appeared as angels. Hall’s daughter provided comfort, and he felt his father’s presence, both giving him strength.
Fox News values Hall’s courage, which serves as an inspiration to the network. His perseverance through tragedy with the belief that his loved ones guided him provides hope and highlights the strength of the human spirit.
