Travis Kelce Balances Wedding Plans Without Missing Chiefs’ Practices
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is approaching his wedding to famous singer Taylor Swift. They plan to marry on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, New York City. The event is expected to cost around $20 million.
As Kelce’s personal milestone approaches, questions arose about whether planning for this major event might affect his performance at the Chiefs’ Organized Team Activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamp.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provided reassurance on Thursday. He shared that Kelce has remained focused during the offseason.
“He’s been here most of the offseason, if not the whole offseason, so he’s been around,”Reid said.“It’s good to have him here. He did the mandatory camp and did a nice job there, so it’s good to have him back and rolling. He’s very excited. You see no distractions with him and the wedding.”
Reid humorously noted that he let his wife lead during his own wedding, suggesting Kelce might be doing the same.
Kelce has not missed any OTAs or minicamp sessions. The wedding is set for weeks before training camp starts in late July. This timing indicates careful planning by Kelce and Swift to avoid conflicts with the Chiefs’ schedule.
Reports also indicate that Kelce and Swift will delay their honeymoon. They plan an overseas trip later in the year to destinations including Asia, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Italy, and Paris.
