Giant Number Markings Investigated on National Mall

Large numbers, 8647, appeared on the National Mall in Washington on Thursday. This prompted federal authorities to begin an investigation. The White House described this as an act of ‘political violence.’

An Interior Department official labeled the event as ‘deranged’ vandalism and assured that it ‘will not be tolerated.’ The spokesperson stated, ‘Any threat against the President is taken very seriously by the Department, and our U.S. Park Police will investigate this incident and hold those responsible accountable.’

U.S. Park Police informed NBC News that they responded to the incident on Thursday morning and that a probe is in progress. ‘The cause of the discoloration has not yet been determined,’ the office stated. ‘Grass samples have been collected for testing. The investigation is ongoing.’

The numbers 8647 are central to a criminal case involving former FBI Director James Comey. He was indicted in April after the Justice Department accused him of threatening President Donald Trump’s life by sharing an Instagram photo. The photo showed seashells arranged to form ‘8647.’ Trump holds the position of both the 45th and 47th president.

In the restaurant industry, ’86’ signifies that an item is out of stock and should be removed from the menu.

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle stated, ‘Anyone who engages in or endorses political violence or assassination culture must be condemned in the harshest terms possible. They should also immediately seek psychiatric help to treat their severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has warped their brains.’

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, which holds jurisdiction over any potential cases from the incident, chose not to comment.

The appearance of the numbers coincides with upcoming events on the National Mall, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. A federal judge recently ruled in a separate case that ‘8647’ alone is not a threat. This was determined after a protest flag with the numbers outside a federal courthouse on National Park Service land was allowed to remain displaying the numbers as an expression of free speech.

This event on the National Mall happens just before the United Fighting Championship fights and other celebrations scheduled on the Mall this summer for the 250th anniversary of the U.S.
