President Donald Trump discussed the possibility of Hunter Biden running for president in 2028, suggesting that Hunter might have a chance if candidates with controversies can survive in politics. Trump made these comments while addressing questions from Fox News’ Peter Doocy.
Doocy queried Trump about Hunter’s recent activity on social media and the speculation of a future presidential run. Trump responded, acknowledging Hunter Biden’s troubled past and implying it might hinder his political prospects.
The discussion also touched on Graham Platner, a candidate for the Maine Senate, who faces several controversies. Trump compared Platner’s situation to Hunter Biden’s, suggesting if Platner can stay competitive despite his issues, Hunter might fare similarly in politics.
Platner is dealing with issues such as a deleted Reddit account, a tattoo linked to Nazi symbolism, drug use, and allegations involving ex-girlfriends. Despite these controversies, he remains a strong candidate trying to unseat Republican Senator Susan Collins.
Trump further compared Hunter Biden’s potential candidacy to James Talarico, the Democratic Senate nominee in Texas. He mentioned that if Talarico could be successful, Hunter might have a chance as well.
During the same event, Trump provided insights into a private meeting with former President Joe Biden after the 2024 elections. When asked about Biden’s mental state, Trump stated that he did not notice any significant cognitive decline. He added that Biden seemed as he always had, though he speculated that something might have affected him during the debates.
