On Sunday, Donald Trump criticized Fox News for not covering a series of recent rallies extensively, raising concerns about the network’s future ratings. He communicated these thoughts in a Truth Social post, questioning Fox News’s leadership.
Trump’s Critique
In his post, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Fox & Friends Weekend for not prominently featuring rallies in Ohio, Alabama, Texas, and Oklahoma. He stated that these rallies drew significant crowds, highlighting the excitement in the Republican Party. Trump noted that other networks provided more comprehensive coverage and implied that Fox News needed to meet viewers’ interests. He warned that the network’s audience might decline if the coverage remained limited.
Network Programming Decisions Questioned
Trump also criticized some of Fox News’s programming choices, mentioning commentator Jessica Tarlov and accusing the network of allocating excessive airtime to political adversaries. He suggested that such programming decisions could alienate viewers.
Maria Bartiromo’s exit from the network was another focal point of Trump’s criticism.
This issue arises amid the White House’s ongoing legal conflict with CNN, MS NOW, and Politico regarding these outlets’ access to White House events.
