According to U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, diplomatic talks have been ongoing. In remarks to Fox News, he emphasized that discussions involve multiple levels of negotiation, aiming to bring the U.S. and Iran back to the table.
Rumors suggesting a depletion of U.S. interceptor stockpiles have been dismissed by Waltz. However, experts question the sustainability of continuous military campaigns by both nations. Iran’s spokesperson confirmed the pause, following U.S. lead, and highlighted recent retaliatory strikes against host countries of U.S. forces.
A regional officer dubbed the pause a ‘positive signal,’ encouraging ongoing negotiations. With the ceasefire period halfway through its 60-day term, crucial matters, such as Iran’s nuclear program, remain unresolved.
“Both countries seek to return to the ceasefire. A compromise might allow Iran fewer restrictions on vessel transit through the Strait of Hormuz,” said the official. This individual, not authorized to discuss publicly, requested anonymity.
Shipping in the Strait of Hormuz is at a low, compounded by threats from Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen targeting Saudi shipping. Energy supplies are impacted, raising gasoline prices amid global economic concerns.
No confirmed attack reports emerged in the past 72 hours in the region, according to a maritime agency affiliated with the U.S. Navy. Discussions between Iran and Oman persist concerning the Strait of Hormuz’s secure passage. Progress is noted in these talks.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports U.S. President Donald Trump’s diplomatic efforts. Planned talks in Washington aim to bolster strategies against Iran’s nuclear ambitions without further military escalation.
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel’s military response would be swift if faced with aggression from Iran or its proxies.
