U.S. Shifts Fertilizer Purchases to Belarus

The United States is looking to negotiate a deal to acquire fertilizer from Belarus. This move aims to reduce reliance on Canada, the longstanding U.S. ally, according to President Donald Trump on Monday.

The Trump administration asserts that this strategy will help lower fertilizer costs for American farmers. By shifting potash purchases, the United States seeks to foster increased trade with Belarus. However, it is noteworthy that Belarus assisted Moscow in launching its invasion of Ukraine.

This decision comes amidst ongoing tensions and disputes between the White House and Canada.
