Union Efforts Driven by Workplace Challenges at Oregon Hospice
Working individuals seek influence in their jobs to enhance their lives and communities. At Serenity Hospice in Eugene, employees face difficulties with insufficient wages for demanding work. Dwanna Tarpio, alongside her coworkers, expressed dissatisfaction with their earnings.
Owning to the demanding nature of their roles, both physically and emotionally, they found their compensation inadequate to sustain their needs. This frustration led them to take the momentous step of unionizing.
These workers believe that forming a union presents the opportunity to negotiate better pay and working conditions, ultimately contributing to a more equitable workplace environment.
Unionization represents a collective effort to empower workers, giving them a voice to address workplace grievances effectively. Employees often see union formation as a means to instigate change and achieve a fairer distribution of workplace benefits.
