United Flight Diverted to Wisconsin Due to Unruly Passenger
A United Airlines flight on its way to Minneapolis was diverted to Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday night to remove a disruptive passenger. The incident involved United flight 2005, traveling from Chicago to Minneapolis.
An airline spokesperson confirmed the diversion in an email, stating that the Boeing 737-900 landed safely to address security concerns. The plane was carrying 147 passengers and six crew members.
Carrie Springer, spokeswoman for the Dane County Regional Airport, reported that law enforcement officials onboard quickly restrained the passenger. Upon landing, deputies from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office met the plane and removed the individual.
The investigation into the incident is being led by federal authorities. There were no reported injuries among the passengers or crew. After resolving the situation, the flight continued and successfully landed in Minneapolis early Saturday morning.
