Universal Studios responded swiftly after a leak of the film “The Odyssey” occurred over the weekend. The studio issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to protecting intellectual property rights. Upon discovering the unauthorized posting, Universal initiated immediate takedown procedures to remove the content.
The leaked high-quality copy of the film, directed by Christopher Nolan, was initially posted on X. It garnered over 2.1 million views before the account responsible was suspended within three hours, as reported by Variety.
In theaters, “The Odyssey” continues to attract large audiences. Its success led to the AMC app crashing in June due to overwhelming demand for advance tickets. On its second weekend, the film generated $87 million, according to data from Rentrak, a company tracking box office sales.
The film features Jimmy Gonzales as Cepheus, Matt Damon as Odysseus, and Himesh Patel as Eurylochus. Its popularity underscores its status as a must-see film for moviegoers.
