Wildfires have significantly impacted all of Washington state’s national parks. Ninety-five large, uncontained fires are threatening well-known locations such as Mount Rainier National Park in Washington and Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon.
On Friday, smoke from the Border 2 Fire covered North Cascades National Park in Washington, creating a hazy environment. The North Cascades National Park Service reported this situation.
As of Thursday, wildfires this year have consumed over 6.4 million acres of land nationwide. On Wednesday alone, 103 new fires were reported, highlighting the widespread nature of this issue.
