Wynonna Judd Surprised by Rosie O’Donnell’s Political Claims

Wynonna Judd expressed surprise when she learned about Rosie O’Donnell’s comments regarding her political beliefs. The country music star addressed the situation after O’Donnell publicly declared her as a supporter of President Donald Trump.

Judd told People magazine, “I’m in shock. I’ve never spoken to her about politics in my life. She doesn’t know anything about my preferences. I’m an independent.”

Judd emphasized that O’Donnell’s claims seemed to be based on assumptions. “I heard it and I went, ‘What the …?’ She’s just assuming,” Judd added. Though confused, she stated she wasn’t angry.

“I just don’t want drama,” Judd stated. “So, if there’s going to be drama, I think, ‘Oh for crap’s sake, there’s so much going on right now in the world. Can we just love each other?’”

Fox News Digital reached out to O’Donnell for a comment, but there was no immediate response.

This situation surfaced after O’Donnell discussed their friendship on “The Tangle with Kyle Ridley” podcast. O’Donnell described Judd as the only Trump supporter she kept a friendship with, mentioning that their bond allowed them to overlook political differences.

O’Donnell explained her perspective, “I kind of give her a grace in a way. She’s had so much in her life, with her mom taking her own life and just the complicated nature of her upbringing. And I really love her, and I care about her. And, for some reason, I’m able to put that aside when we interact.”

The friendship between the two has lasted decades. Judd was a frequent guest on O’Donnell’s daytime talk show during the 1990s, and they have maintained their bond since then.

O’Donnell has openly criticized Trump in the past and moved to Ireland with her child following the 2024 presidential election. She continues to speak out on American politics from abroad.
