The efforts by the Defense Department to limit media access faced another setback. On Tuesday, a federal judge issued a temporary order preventing the Pentagon from enforcing a rule that required credentialed journalists to be accompanied by official escorts while inside the building. This decision follows a previous legal defeat for the government earlier this year and currently affects only reporters from the New York Times.
