The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has joined the ongoing investigation into the sudden death of actress Hayden Panettiere. Her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, recently commented on this tragic event through his lawyer, Sloan Ellis, who emphasized the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed without interference. Ellis confirmed no signs of foul play were found by the police during the initial investigation.
The Greenville Police Department, involved in the case, is collaborating with the Coroner’s Office to review findings and evidence. This will determine if a criminal investigation is necessary. Currently, they are refraining from media interviews concerning the case.
Authorities were alerted to Panettiere’s passing when she was found unresponsive at a Greenville, South Carolina apartment. Despite resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead at the age of 36. Preliminary autopsy results revealed no trauma as a contributing factor to her death. It was reported that Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zach, contacted emergency services after finding her, also providing the authorities a bag of medication Panettiere had been using.
The brothers’ involvement included a search warrant executed at the residence. Reports indicated Zach Hickerson was particularly emotional as paramedics attempted to revive Panettiere. Police later performed a welfare check at a nearby home associated with the Hickersons but found no one present.
The relationship between Panettiere and Hickerson started in 2018, following her split from Wladimir Klitschko. Their connection was marred by legal issues, with Hickerson facing multiple charges of domestic violence against Panettiere over the years. He recently attempted to reduce felony charges related to these incidents, but a Los Angeles court denied his motion shortly before Panettiere’s death.
This tragic event continues to draw attention as both the DEA and local authorities work together in the investigation.
