Kyle Kuzma Backs Spencer Pratt for Los Angeles Mayor
Milwaukee Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma placed a significant wager, betting $36,000 that Spencer Pratt, a former reality star from ‘The Hills,’ will win Los Angeles’ upcoming mayoral election. The election is set for June 2, and Kuzma, who clinched a championship with the Lakers in 2020, stands firm in backing Pratt’s campaign.
Critics questioned Kuzma’s support for Pratt. In response, Kuzma stated on X, ‘LA has been cooked since Covid what am I missing lol.’ Kuzma, 30, was initially drafted by the Lakers and spent four seasons with the team.
Spencer Pratt is running as an outsider, promising to address local government issues with a new approach to public safety. Pratt received endorsements from notable figures, including President Trump and Jeanie Buss, a minority owner of the Lakers. Buss even made a maximum donation to support Pratt’s campaign.
After losing his home in the 2025 wildfires, Pratt announced his candidacy in January. Now, determined to challenge incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, Pratt highlights his frustrations with current city leadership and emergency response failures.
Pratt has connected with voters’ dissatisfaction regarding crime, city expenses, and the homelessness crisis. Despite being viewed initially as an unlikely candidate, his campaign continues to draw attention with distinct strategies and pointed criticism of City Hall. He often targets Mayor Bass, referring to her as ‘Karen Basura,’ criticizing her policies as contributing to the city’s struggles.
At a recent Ronda Rousey-Gina Carano event at the Intuit Dome, Pratt discussed his plans with OutKick, emphasizing his commitment to making Los Angeles a safer city.
