Kamala Harris Accuses Republicans of Cheating, Emphasizes Midterms
Former Vice President Kamala Harris accused Republicans of “cheating” during a Thursday interview. She emphasized the importance of Democrats winning the midterm elections by working to “stop the madness.” Harris expressed her focus on the midterms, stating, “Midterms, midterms, midterms, full-time occupying my thoughts, my mind, and my work.” She accused Republicans of redrawing district lines and making it harder for people to vote, actions she attributes to their fear of the power of the people.
During her discussion with former women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe on the podcast “What Are You Like?”, Harris shared her commitment to restoring balance in government by focusing on the midterm elections. Rapinoe questioned Harris on what motivated her return to political life. Harris responded, “I don’t know how to live and not serve.” She highlighted her desire to restore a functioning government and a sense of sanity.
This came in response to the Republicans’ approach toward voting regulations. RNC election integrity Communications Director Ally Triolo criticized Harris’s stance, stating, “If Kamala Harris is upset Republicans are going after the illegals and fraudsters trying to vote, it makes you wonder if she’s taking crazy pills again.” Triolo argued that voter ID and proof of citizenship are common sense measures for ensuring fair elections.
In another conversation, Rapinoe asked Harris about a potential 2028 presidential run. Harris stated she hasn’t made a decision because the focus remains on winning in 2026. She highlighted her intent to help Democrats, even those who prefer she stays away from their campaigns, as long as it contributes to winning. Harris emphasized the need to “put a check on this lawless administration” and address issues like lowering costs and providing affordable healthcare.
Rapinoe also shared her experiences as a female athlete, describing a historic period for women’s sports. She expressed concern over recent regressions in equal rights, noting the challenges faced by women’s sports despite significant progress.
