The influencer known as Clavicular is facing serious criminal charges in Massachusetts. Court records indicate allegations against him including rape, drugging a person for sexual intercourse, and supplying alcohol to a minor. These charges were initially reported by The Bulwark which cited evidence from Massachusetts court documents. Braden Peters, as Clavicular is legally known, has been charged in Orleans District Court. These legal developments add weight to allegations that already surfaced in a civil case brought by another social media figure.
Clavicular’s Response
In response, Clavicular’s representative, Mitchell P. Jackson, stated to Newsweek, “I am Clavicular’s rep. We have no further comment besides what we’ve already said in public.” Earlier, Jackson had told NBC News that Peters had not been physically served and disputed the case’s portrayal. The case is moving towards an October 14 arraignment, while Clavicular’s team maintains there is no additional public comment beyond prior statements and disputes aspects of the media coverage.
Massachusetts court records show that Peters, aged 20, was charged on September 8. The complaint cites incidents occurring on May 23, 2025, in Chatham, Massachusetts. A judge found probable cause for the charges on September 4 before issuing the criminal complaint. Newsweek has reached out to The Bulwark via email for comment.
Clavicular’s Reaction to Media Reports
After reports about the criminal charges surfaced, Peters responded to a link on X, questioning the validity of “community notes.” A note under the post confirmed that Clavicular had indeed been charged. Attorney Jeff Neiman, representing Peters, asserted his client’s innocence in a statement to The New York Times but declined to comment further.
Attempts to contact Peters directly were unsuccessful. The police report mentions trying to reach him, yet failing to do so due to a full voicemail box.
Details of the Charges
Court records allege three charges against Peters: rape, drugging a person for sexual intercourse, and supplying alcohol to someone underage. A conviction for the rape charge could result in a prison sentence of up to 20 years under Massachusetts law. Records show that probable cause was found for all counts before summons issuance. Peters is not currently in custody according to court documents.
Allegations in Police Reports
The police report supporting the complaint provides insights from a woman who reported the incident to Chatham Police in 2026. She claimed to have been 17 during the events, arriving at Peters’ home by Uber. The report stated that she reported drinking vodka provided by Peters during a livestream session. She alleged feeling intoxicated and recalled kissing Peters during the broadcast. Following the stream, she alleged that she was non-consensually engaged in sexual intercourse twice, with no consent given.
According to the narrative, the woman awoke uncomfortable and shocked. Based on her age and intoxication level, officers concluded there was probable cause to list the charges in the criminal complaint. The allegations remain untested in court, with prosecutors required to establish proof.
Connection to Civil Lawsuit
The criminal case has drawn renewed attention as it seems to overlap with claims from a civil lawsuit brought by influencer Aleksandra Vasilevna Mendoza, known online as Alorah Ziva, in Florida. Newsweek has reached out to her lawyer, Andrew Moss, for comments.
In the civil suit, Mendoza claimed Peters arranged for her trip to Cape Cod, provided alcohol, and engaged in involuntary sexual activity. Peters has denied these accusations through legal representation. The civil lawsuit, still pending, asserts that Mendoza engaged with Peters to enhance her online presence. The suit alleges he invited her to Massachusetts after compensation for content production.
No official court records explicitly connect the civil and criminal cases, though there are similarities in date, location, and accusations.
Who Is Clavicular?
Clavicular gained fame through the “looksmaxxing” movement, which centers on physical appearance improvement. He has garnered a significant online following but faced controversies as well. Earlier reports covered legal trouble involving an alligator shooting and a suspected overdose incident. The current allegations represent significant legal challenges, with the case progressing in Massachusetts court, including an arraignment proceeding in October.
