Selma Blair Arrested After In-Flight Incident

Authorities reported that actress Selma Blair was arrested following an incident on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to John F. Kennedy International Airport. Sources state Blair attempted to open the plane door while the aircraft was midair, resulting in physical altercations with flight attendants, according to TMZ’s report. One attendant was allegedly punched, while another was bitten during the intervention.

Dispatch audio acquired by TMZ revealed airline officials requested medical staff be present upon the flight’s arrival to treat injuries, including bite marks and a bloody nose. Blair reportedly banged her head against a partition separating sections of the plane. One of the flight attendants required hospital treatment, confirmed by the New York Port Authority.

A Delta spokesperson affirmed the airline’s zero-tolerance policy towards unruly behavior, prioritizing safety for both passengers and crew. Blair’s representative mentioned she suffered a medical emergency leading to her actions, receiving immediate medical attention upon landing. Currently, Blair is in stable condition.

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, Blair, aged 54, has been managing symptoms of the disease, which range from memory issues to mood changes. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society notes the impact of MS on the central nervous system. She announced her remission in 2021 and reported feeling well during an April 2026 interview with TODAY.

Previously, in 2016, Blair encountered a similar situation when removed from a flight after experiencing a psychotic blackout attributed to mixing alcohol with medication. She described the incident as a significant error.
