The Senate race in Ohio has taken an unexpected turn as socialist candidate Greg Levy criticizes a super PAC’s unsolicited mail campaign. These mailers, sent to voters across the state, advocate on Levy’s behalf but have been described by his campaign as “deceptive” and misleading.
Levy’s team clarified in a recent social media post that they have no connection to the distribution of these mailers. The materials promote slogans such as “Join the Revolution” and emphasize Levy’s endorsement of initiatives like “Free Palestine” and a $30 minimum wage. Levy’s campaign is considering legal measures to address what they see as unauthorized use of his image and message.
Further intensifying the controversy, Levy, who is Black, referred to the actions by the super PAC as a form of “digital blackface”. This term is being used to highlight the perceived racial insensitivity and potential manipulation involved in the campaign.
