A U.S. District Judge issued a directive following an intense courtroom session focused on the removal of around 430 trees at East Potomac Golf Links. The judge criticized government attorneys for permitting this action.
Judge Ana C. Reyes requested that two high-ranking officials, National Park Service Director Jessica Bowron and Gregory Wischer, deputy chief of staff at the Interior Department, appear in court. They are expected to testify on the development and execution of the Trump administration’s tree-removal plan. This session is scheduled for next Monday.
The directive aims to uncover the decision-making process behind the rapid implementation of the tree-removal initiative.
