Actor James Handy Allegedly Killed by Girlfriend’s Son

James Handy, an actor recognized for his performances in films such as “Jumanji” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” reportedly died after an alleged incident involving his girlfriend’s son, according to police.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to an event at a residence on the 19200 block of Erwin Street early Wednesday.
Police reported that a 911 call stated, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.” Officers discovered Handy, aged 81, unconscious in the front yard with a stab wound to the chest.

Authorities transported Handy to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The suspect, identified as Michael Gledhill, 44, of Tarzana, flagged down officers on their arrival and confessed.
Gledhill lived at the residence with his mother, Handy’s girlfriend. Police arrested and booked Gledhill into the Van Nuys Jail on a murder charge, setting bail at $2 million.

Throughout his nearly five-decade career, Handy accumulated almost 150 acting credits, according to IMDb. Apart from his film roles, he appeared as a guest on several television series, including “The West Wing,” “9-1-1,” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
