Adrian Peterson Supports Kyler Murray for Vikings Starting QB

Murray’s extensive experience and accolades include being named Offensive Rookie of the Year and earning two Pro Bowl selections during his seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

During an interview with Kyle Odegard of Roto Grinders, former Vikings star Adrian Peterson expressed his preference for Murray as the starting quarterback. Peterson believes Murray’s experience is crucial, stating, “I feel like the sky is the limit for the Vikings.” He praised the team’s defense and remarked on Murray’s potential impact, saying, “That’s a hell of a move right there.” Peterson mentioned Murray’s agility and strong arm, which enable him to keep plays alive, making him a suitable fit for Minnesota’s talented roster.

Citing McCarthy’s youth and need for growth, Peterson said, “It would definitely be a surprise to see McCarthy get the job. He’s still a young quarterback with a lot of growing to do.” Despite recognizing McCarthy’s potential, he noted some inconsistent decision-making by the young quarterback while watching Vikings games last year.

Peterson highlighted Murray’s split from Arizona as a potential motivational factor. “A lot of people criticize Murray for inconsistent performances,” Peterson said. “But a fresh start in Minnesota could provide the boost he needs.” Peterson believes this new opportunity allows Murray to embrace a mindset focused on improving the team’s offensive and defensive capabilities.
