The American Music Awards signal the onset of summer, celebrating outstanding achievements in music. The event features performances by Billy Idol, Keith Urban, Teyana Taylor, and more. Broadcast begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and streams on Paramount+.

Esteemed as the largest fan-voted awards show globally, the AMAs have closed voting for most categories. However, fans can vote online or via Instagram for the social song of the year and tour of the year during the first half-hour of the show.

Queen Latifah returns as host, having co-hosted in 1995 and performed at past shows. Taylor Swift leads with eight nominations after releasing “The Life of a Showgirl,” nominated for album of the year and best pop album. Her tracks “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Elizabeth Taylor” are nominated for various awards, including song of the year and song of the summer.

Swift has won 40 AMAs, more than any other artist, and is nominated again for artist of the year and best female pop artist. Close behind are Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sombr, each with seven nominations.

A key highlight includes Billy Idol receiving a lifetime achievement award, performing a medley of hits like “Dancing With Myself.” Idol appeared last at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April 2026.

Keith Urban will share a song from his upcoming yacht rock album “Flow State.” Teyana Taylor will deliver a medley from her album “Escape Room.” Taylor was recognized with a Golden Globe for her role in “One Battle After Another” and is vying for best female R&B artist.

Groups with massive followings such as Hootie and the Blowfish, New Kids on the Block, and The Pussycat Dolls are also performing. K-pop giants BTS, resuming appearances after military service, will attend their first awards show in four years and are up for three awards.
