A B-52 Stratofortress, a long-range bomber, crashed shortly after taking off from Edwards Air Force Base in California. The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 11:20 a.m. local time. As of now, there are no immediate reports of any casualties, according to base officials who shared an update on Facebook.
Emergency response teams are at the scene to manage the situation. The Stratofortress, constructed by Boeing, is renowned for its capability to carry nuclear weapons. Commonly referred to as ‘the Buff’, which stands for Big Ugly Fat Fellow, this bomber has been integral to the U.S. Air Force since its introduction in 1955.
