Bouchard Criticizes El-Sayed’s Progressive Agenda in Michigan Race

In Warren, Michigan, Republican nominee Mike Bouchard Jr. expressed strong opinions regarding Abdul El-Sayed’s recent Senate primary win. He stated that this victory should not be seen as an indication that Michigan is embracing socialist ideas. According to Bouchard, El-Sayed’s message creates division within the country.

Bouchard highlighted a campaign event involving El-Sayed and Hasan Piker, noting Piker’s controversial statement about 9/11. Bouchard, a Bronze Star recipient, emphasized that such comments are divisive. He underscored the need for unity and criticized attempts to bring socialism into the country.

El-Sayed narrowly won the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, defeating Rep. Haley Stevens by a slim margin. Bouchard, during an interview with Fox News Digital, saw El-Sayed’s win as a reflection of division within the Democratic Party. Bouchard believes most Michigan voters remain moderate and are not attracted to extremist politics.

Bouchard, son of Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, addressed the growing influence of the socialist wing in the Democratic Party. He commented on recent far-left victories, including El-Sayed’s win and Francesca Hong’s candidacy in Wisconsin.

Bouchard used the fall of the Berlin Wall as a reference, questioning the appeal of socialism. He argued that socialism has consistently failed. Bouchard contrasted his stance with that of El-Sayed, who he claims supports defunding the police, and highlighted his own commitment to building up the country.

In November, Bouchard will face Democrat Christina Hines in the election. The focus will be on contrasting their records on crime. Bouchard criticized Hines for her approach to crime, labeling her policies as lenient.

Bouchard stressed his priority to protect victims and ensure offenders are penalized. He described the need for safety as foundational for community well-being. Hines, in response, pointed to her record as a prosecutor as evidence of her commitment to community safety.

Hines argued that Bouchard’s military background does not equate to her prosecutorial experience. She pledges to combat corruption and maintain safety. Fox News Digital reached out to El-Sayed’s campaign for comments.
