British Embassy Introduces ‘The Two Georges’ Pub

The British Embassy in Washington has launched an on-site pub named The Two Georges, acknowledging both George Washington and King George III. These two historic figures never shared a drink, but the embassy aims to create a space for camaraderie.

The pub’s grand opening on Thursday welcomed guests, who created silhouettes on its front door. The event was captured in a photograph by Pete Kiehart for The Washington Post.

A significant black metal fence surrounds the embassy’s grounds in Washington. Typically, visitors enter through fortified guardhouses, but on this occasion, a special gate allowed easy access for the event.
