The Buffalo Bills showcased their offensive prowess in Week 2 by securing a 41-31 victory over the Detroit Lions on “Thursday Night Football.” Despite the triumph, the team faced a setback as wide receiver DJ Moore left the game with a shoulder injury during the second quarter while trying to make a touchdown catch.
According to Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network, Moore’s injury rendered him unable to continue playing. He finished the game without any receptions but made one rushing attempt for a loss of one yard.
Moore had an impressive start with the Bills in Week 1, catching five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in their 36-21 win against the Houston Texans. This performance followed his high-profile offseason trade, where Buffalo acquired him from the Chicago Bears for a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick.
After the game, Bills head coach Joe Brady praised Moore’s ability to deliver crucial plays. “You see there’s a reason we brought him here and the ability he can make plays down the field,” Brady stated.
With Moore sidelined, quarterback Josh Allen relied heavily on Dalton Kincaid, who topped Buffalo’s receiving stats with seven receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. Keon Coleman also contributed substantially, securing six receptions for 63 yards, while Joshua Palmer scored a notable 43-yard touchdown.
The Bills will need to adjust their strategy if Moore remains unavailable, but their versatile offensive options provide optimism for future games.
