The Los Angeles Sparks selected Cameron Brink as the second overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Since then, the 24-year-old has faced significant challenges.
Brink’s debut season abruptly ended after an ACL tear on June 18, 2024. This injury also impacted her availability for the 2025 season. She made a comeback on July 29, 2025, managing to play in 19 games.
Hopes were high for Brink’s third WNBA season with her return to full health. Unfortunately, another setback occurred during the Sparks’ 78-58 loss against the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.
“Cameron Brink started limping toward the bench before taking a seat on the floor before she got there,” reported ESPN’s Kendra Andrews. “Her teammates are now helping her up over to a seat. Not quite sure what happened. She stood in the corner for a bit and is now walking off of the court under her own power.”
Post-game, Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts mentioned that Brink was undergoing evaluation. Later, reporter John W. Davis confirmed Brink’s absence from the team’s upcoming game against the Minnesota Lynx due to a left ankle injury.
Brink’s performance has included averages of 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 1.1 assists across 14 games for the Sparks, who have an even record of 7-7.
