A recent study reveals that the covid-19 vaccine significantly decreased emergency department visits and hospitalizations among healthy adults by approximately 50% during last winter. The findings were published in the JAMA Network Open, a respected peer-reviewed medical journal, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
A clinical photograph depicting a woman receiving the Moderna covid-19 vaccine in Maryland in 2022 has been associated with this study.
This research previously faced scrutiny when the CDC’s interim director halted its publication in the CDC’s weekly scientific report due to methodological concerns. Despite earlier criticism regarding its methodology, the study analysis proceeded using the same approach and successfully made its way into the JAMA Network Open.
