The Chicago Bears are considering relocating to Indiana, causing unease among many fans. WWE NXT champion Tony D’Angelo, a dedicated Bears supporter from Oak Park, Illinois, voices his discontent over this possible move to Hammond, Indiana.
D’Angelo expressed his confusion during an interview with Fox News Digital, questioning the decision to relocate such an iconic NFL franchise. He mentioned the irony of the move, arguing that the Bears’ identity is closely tied to Chicago’s rich football history and cultural scene.
Despite the team’s financial considerations influencing the potential relocation, D’Angelo feels that leaving Illinois entirely would harm the team’s heritage. He commented on the significance of the Bears’ connection to Chicago, highlighting the city’s attributes, such as its location on Lake Michigan.
Bears executives argue that a planned “world-class stadium” in Hammond could boost the region and foster connectivity between Northwest Indiana and Chicago. They believe this transformation would unite diverse communities, bringing positive economic and social impacts.
D’Angelo remains optimistic about the team’s performance in the upcoming 2026 season. Under quarterback Caleb Williams and coach Ben Johnson, he hopes the Bears can showcase their capabilities. Last season, the team garnered attention by winning several games in dramatic fashion, often surmounting fourth-quarter deficits. This demonstrated resilience and determination, traits that D’Angelo believes will be crucial in future matches.
Despite lingering skepticism among some fans due to inconsistent past performances, D’Angelo has faith in the current team and coaching staff. He sees the 2026 season as pivotal, believing it could solidify confidence and stability within the franchise.
On a personal note, D’Angelo is also preparing to defend his NXT Championship title against Naraku at The Great American Bash, scheduled to air on the CW Network.
