Deion Sanders Addresses Colorado Play Script Controversy
More than a week has passed since the alleged offensive script of Colorado was posted on social media by a Texas Tech fan during their game. Head Coach Deion Sanders is now addressing the incident, aiming to move past the embarrassment.
This marks the first time Sanders has commented on the situation that captivated college football fans. They scrutinized game footage to assess whether the script was genuine.

The incident unfolded before Texas Tech’s match against Colorado in Boulder. Red Raiders fans reportedly encountered supposed plays from the Buffaloes’ offensive strategy, which were subsequently shared online.
During Colorado’s home games, the team usually lodges at a nearby hotel in Broomfield, not far from the stadium. Allegedly, a play script was found at the hotel bar, frequented by some Texas Tech fans.
When questioned, Deion Sanders doubted the existence of a comprehensive playbook. He remarked, “I don’t think we have a whole playbook, it is more of a script. We scored on the first drive, so what’s the issue?” Sanders clearly understood an oversight occurred among his staff. Yet, he appeared indifferent to the ensuing scandal.
Asked if further investigation would follow, Sanders retorted, “Why would we? The game’s over. We likely know much more than you think. A whole playbook? Come on.”
Further pressing revealed Sanders acknowledged someone from the Buffaloes staff left the script in the hotel bar.
Referencing the matter, Sanders added, “It happens occasionally. I’ve seen this at both the professional and collegiate levels. We scored on our first drive, so it didn’t affect us.” As for whether this oversight was weighing on Sanders’ mind, his stance was clear. “If someone left the script, they did. Mistake made. It’s over,” he stated.
He questioned the reliance on such information, asking if opposing teams would trust a stray script. “Would you trust it? If Utah left their script, would you believe it?”
Despite Sanders’ hopes to downplay the incident, it’s another odd anecdote in his tenure at Colorado. The Buffaloes football program has faced numerous bizarre challenges.
While Sanders tries to convey nonchalance, the implication is that a staffer left a crucial script behind. However, Sanders downplays the situation, focusing on the game’s outcome rather than the blunder.
Should Sanders fail to stabilize the program, more than just a play script could depart from Boulder. The pressure builds on Deion Sanders as he navigates the unfolding scenarios in Colorado.
