You can now listen to Fox News articles! Drew Brees has been officially inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Alongside other football legends, Brees received this honor earlier this month. His career achievements are outstanding: second all-time in passing yards and touchdowns, a Super Bowl XLIV win along with MVP honors, 13 Pro Bowls, and more. Brees’ Hall of Fame appearance was inevitable.
Some players await their turn for induction, like Eli Manning, whose career has sparked much debate. Manning, like Brees, shines on the all-time passing leaders list. During his 16-year career with the New York Giants, Manning secured two Super Bowl wins. Yet, despite his achievements, Manning has not yet been inducted into the Hall of Fame, missing the list of 15 modern-era finalists for two consecutive years.
Drew Brees shared his opinion, affirming Manning’s deserving spot in the Hall of Fame. Brees, speaking with Fox News Digital, emphasized the various factors determining a quarterback’s legacy: career consistency, championships, and body of work. Manning’s accomplishments, including two championships, speak volumes according to Brees.
Brees regarded Manning’s 16-year tenure with the Giants as impressive, especially considering the era of extraordinary quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and more. Eli Manning’s contribution to the Giants and his playoff victories against exceptional teams further cement his legacy.
Critics argue that Manning’s career had periods of mediocrity. His regular-season 117-117 record, absence from first-team All-Pro, and zero AP NFL MVP votes stand against him. His high turnovers and 60.3% completion rate don’t help his case, but Manning’s durability (210 straight games) and clutch performances, especially twice leading wins against the Patriots in Super Bowls, remain compelling.
Brees believes Manning will eventually be recognized in Canton. Outside the field, Brees has found success in business as a co-owner of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, a rapidly growing sports bar franchise. Brees highlights the importance of having sports accessible at their venues, thanks to a partnership with DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS, offering nationwide coverage of college and pro games to over 300,000 bars and restaurants.
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux offers Louisiana-inspired food and a family-friendly atmosphere. Brees mentions how their sports fan partnership enhances the experience by providing access to all games and events across multiple sports, drawing fans together in a lively, energetic setting.
Brees appreciates how fans bond over sports at such venues, explaining that shared moments during games lead to new friendships. This spirit of camaraderie and community strongly influences Walk-On’s mission.
