FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott marked the occasion by ringing the Closing Bell at Nasdaq MarketSite in New York City, commemorating Fox News Channel’s 30th anniversary. The network, which began on October 7, 1996, celebrated with original hosts Lauren Green, Trace Gallagher, Steve Doocy, Brit Hume, and FOX News Media President Jay Wallace among others.
Suzanne Scott emphasized the significance of reaching this milestone, stating, “It’s an honor to be at NASDAQ for such a remarkable milestone, the 30th anniversary of Fox News.” She acknowledged the network’s evolution from Rupert Murdoch’s ambitious idea to its present status as a multi-platform entity. FOX News now includes digital, streaming, audio, and book platforms under the leadership of Fox Corp Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch.
Scott highlighted the importance of the team and audience, noting that FOX News Media connects with over 200 million people monthly. She praised the dedication of all members involved in the network and remarked on the loyal viewers who incorporate Fox News into their daily lives. “Celebrating 30 years involves honoring our team and audience while looking forward to new technological platforms and media advancements,” Scott added.
Suzanne Scott, who started with Fox News in its first year, has served as CEO since 2018. During her tenure, Fox News has led cable ratings and outperformed other networks. She expressed gratitude to both viewers and colleagues, stating, “We celebrate 30 years with pride and gratitude.”
The event concluded with Scott and longtime colleagues halting market transactions, with red, white, and blue confetti marking the occasion. Nasdaq Executive Vice President Jeff Thomas recognized FOX News Media as an influential brand and presented Scott with a Closing Bell crystal.
Under Scott’s leadership, the network has launched new initiatives, including FOX News Books in 2020 and expanded its digital presence with a brand refresh. Streaming services, such as FOX Nation, FOX News International, and FOX Weather, also began under her guidance. Brian Flood, a media editor for FOX News Digital, can be contacted with story tips.
