Trump Interacts with Ravens Players at Shipyard Event
President Donald Trump met with several Baltimore Ravens players at Tradepoint Atlantic on Tuesday. He was there to promote Anduril Industries’ $3.7 billion investment in a new shipyard for submarine component manufacturing. The site in Sparrows Point, Baltimore County, Maryland, spans 3,300 acres and is a key logistics center.
During Trump’s remarks, he acknowledged four Ravens players who attended the event on their day off. These players included four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marlon Humphrey, kicker Tyler Loop, long snapper Nick Moore, and punter Ryan Eckley. All of them dressed formally for the occasion and greeted the president.
The announcement involved a significant partnership with Anduril Industries, marking a major development in US submarine production. Trump, showing his sports enthusiasm, praised the Ravens for their strong 3-1 record and leadership in the AFC North division. “What a great team,” he remarked.
Before giving his speech, Trump met with the players; during his talk, he asked them to stand so everyone could see them. He commented, “You guys are big stars. There they are. Good looking guys.” The president especially highlighted Moore, known for his reliability in long snapping. “He’s got an unblemished record,” Trump noted, discussing the precision and skill required for the role.
Some of the players joined Trump on a tour of the facility in the presidential motorcade. Humphrey recorded a video of Trump conversing with Moore about a past Super Bowl, which he shared on social media to widespread attention.
Despite the event’s positive tone, comments online were divided, with discussions touching on various issues. The meeting is expected to be a topic among players as they return to their routine.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, recovering from an ankle injury, did not attend the event. His participation in the upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons remains uncertain. Trump conveyed his regards to Jackson through the other players, expressing admiration for his talent and his mother, whom he mentioned meeting.
