On Thursday night, the New York City skyline featured a patriotic tribute as the Empire State Building was illuminated in red, white, and blue to honor Fox News Channel’s 30th anniversary.
Co-hosts of “FOX & Friends” — Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Brian Kilmeade, and Lawrence Jones — visited the landmark’s Observation Deck to participate in the lighting ceremony and tour the site.
Dan Rogoski, General Manager of the Empire State Building, acknowledged Fox News’s journey since its inception in 1996. He praised the network’s development into a major American news presence, highlighting its significant coverage over the years. Rogoski invited the hosts to share their thoughts.
“Since its launch in 1996, Fox News has grown from a new cable news network into an established presence in American television news. Over the past three decades, the network has covered some of the most consequential stories and events of our time, with generations of journalists, anchors, correspondents, producers, and teams who have contributed to its 24-hour news coverage,” he stated.
Steve Doocy, an original member of Fox News since its debut on October 7, 1996, expressed gratitude to Rupert Murdoch and other key figures at Fox. He highlighted the honor of having the Empire State Building join in their celebration.
Ainsley Earhardt reflected on the journey of the hosts from “humble beginnings” to lighting up the iconic building. She shared a personal anecdote about her childhood and seeing places she only knew from movies.
Despite dealing with laryngitis, Brian Kilmeade shared humor and admiration for Fox News. He remarked on the network’s environment, which fosters genuine talent and personal growth.
“It’s truly a thrill to be here. I know Fox would be successful without me, but I’m sure happy to be along for the ride,” Kilmeade commented.
The event also recognized Suzanne Scott’s induction into the Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame. Lawrence Jones emphasized her impact on his career and acknowledged Rupert Murdoch’s ability to identify and serve an untapped audience.
After the speeches, the co-hosts flipped the switch, illuminating the Empire State Building with Fox News’ signature colors, marking a momentous occasion for the network and its viewers.
