An Idaho mother, Andrea Shaw, 23, faces charges related to the death of her twin toddlers. The Payette Police Department announced her indictment on two counts of first-degree murder. Authorities arrested her in Boise.
Police discovered the boy and girl, aged 18 months, dead on May 1, 2025, in a shared bed. The cause of death was not publicly disclosed, but an indictment in Payette accuses Shaw of suffocating the twins, Dallas and Tyson.
Days following her children’s death, Shaw and her husband appeared on a podcast funded by Children’s Health Defense, a group known for its stance against vaccines. There, she stated that the twins fell ill and died after receiving vaccinations. Her attorney, Joe Filicetti, maintains the belief that vaccines were involved in the deaths, despite lacking evidence.
Filicetti noted Shaw recently had another child through a cesarean section. Her husband currently cares for the newborn.
Initially held at the Ada County Jail, Shaw was transferred to Payette County on a $2 million bond. She appeared virtually for her arraignment, where the court detailed the charges and potential penalties, including the death penalty.
